Since its creation Afnaan has been involved in many community projects - inspiring young people, and enriching the lives of the people in the community it works in.
Much of the work could not have been done without the dedication of the staff, and the support from the community.

AFNAAN's Current activities aims to: Access services which benefit BMER children: service, health, social, educational and developmental needs. Facilitate education, access training and compete in the employment market. Provide a service to their own community in order to foster an ethos of self-help. Enable integration into the community as contributing members.
Project Benefits
1. Promote healthy living and well-being through regular sporting and physical activities. This reflects the Government's Every Child Matters outcome of staying safe, enjoying, achieving and being healthy.
2. Increase self-confidence and self-esteem.
3. Enhance motivation and active participation by engaging community volunteer schemes.
Measurable Outcome
(a) Increased attendance at school (evidence will be recorded).
(b) Improvements in school results (assessed in conjunction with teachers and parents).
(c) Behavioural changes e.g. chidren paying more attention in class.
(d) Increased confidence e.g. children volunteering for activities, providing feedback during classes, and improving their ability to communicate with others.
(e) Involvement in other Afnaan activities through active citizenship volunteering.
(f) Visible signs of enjoyment of the classes which will be fun whilst supporting the learning objectives.
